About Dr. PArvis of Eye-Sight 20/20
Dr. Antoinette D. Parvis, OD is the Chief Executive Director of Eye-Sight 20/20 and a very proud 1991 graduate of the New England College of Optometry. After earning her undergraduate pre-medical degree from Fordham University at the Rose Hill Campus in the Bronx, New York, she began her optometric career in a corporate setting and earned per diem experience in multiple practice settings.
In 1996, Dr. Parvis developed Eye-Sight 20/20 as a way to provide a continuing education arena for Optometry as well as to foster continued excellence in patient care. Since that time, Eye-Sight 20/20 has remained a leader in post-graduate education. Many optometrists have come to trust the colleague-friendly arena created by Dr. Parvis as they focus on improving their patient care outcomes.
Two years later, in 1998, Dr. Parvis entered into private practice in Oxford, Massachusetts. She takes a full wellness approach to patient care and truly believes that “we, are primary eye-care practitioners, are uniquely positioned within the healthcare team to fully integrate our patients’ overall health as it relates to their eye-health. We make significant improvements in our patients’ overall health and well-being by using our expertise to our highest level of skill and compassion.”
Helping Her Community
Dr. Parvis has done may things throughout her career to improve the lives of those throughout her community and beyond. She has been a member of the Oxford Lions Club since 2002, and served as president from 2007-2010, being the first female president in its 66-year history. In 2008, she was the recipient of the Millie Henshall award–a women’s recognition award for service to the community of Oxford and the community at large as well as for professional leadership qualities.
In 2005, she developed a charitable foundation that would become an established 501c (3) five years later. This foundation’s—The Dr. Antoinette D. Parvis Charitable Foundation, Inc.—mission is to support advanced care and find cures for diabetes as well as lung cancer.
Her love of giving didn’t just start at the turn of the century either. Dr. Parvis has been a sponsor of Toys for Tots since 1982. Today, her foundation continues to support Toys for Tots and its mission to provide toys for children in need as well as its goal to provide hope and positive change for those suffering misfortune.
In addition to her optometry practice, Dr. Parvis is also a certified anxiety and phobia counselor. She works with those who suffer from panic disorders and related phobias to help them live a better, more fulfilling life.
