“Treatment and Management of Open Angle Glaucoma”

This 1-hour course will provide a framework for the treatment and management of open angle glaucoma. The course will cover setting a target pressure and initial steps in the medical management; monitoring and serial testing over time, with guidelines for amplification of therapy when needed; and where laser trabeculoplasty and surgical intervention may fit in the overall management of the glaucoma patient.

This 2hr. course will provide an overview of the essential steps necessary in determining the appropriate surgical intervention for a given glaucoma patient, including ,clinical trials. We will also discuss an overview of corneal endothelial function and we will conclude with a focus on the impact of cataract surgery on intraocular pressure in patients with different glaucoma diagnosis.
